Nothing tastes better than incredibly ripe avocados. After living in Costa Rica and Chile where avocados grow ripe on trees and cost next to nothing to purchase at the farmer’s market I learned a thing or two about eating and serving them, like the easiest, most efficient way to perfectly cut avocado- especially an overly ripe avocado that just wants to make a mess of your hands!
How to Perfectly Cut Avocado
Start by slicing your avocado in half and pull out the big seed.
To make cubes:
Keeping the avocado fruit in its skin cut lines into the avocado flesh horizontally and vertically, creating a tic-tac-toe pattern. The avocado cubes will scoop out easily and perfectly with a spoon.
To make slices:
Keep the avocado fruit in its skin and cut lines into the avocado flesh horizontally- use a sharp knife to break through the skin. Then slowly peel off each strip of skin.
And boom- you have perfectly cut avocado.
While you’re cutting up avocados here are a few of my favorite avocado recipes.
