The best way to enjoy the warm summer months ahead of us is with friends and delicious food. Nothing is better than freshly made appetizers out of the garden, like this Pico de Gallo Recipe. Slather it on top of freshly grilled meat or enjoy as a dip for tortilla chips, either way it’s a must-have appetizer for any summer get-together.
Pico de Gallo
The ingredients can be easily manipulated to any taste bud. Don’t like spice? Leave out the jalapeños. Or if raw onion is too strong of a flavor for you then try using green onions instead. Salt can be added at the end to taste. It’s alway easier to add more than to subtract.
Play around with the flavors and see what you like most. I like a more acidic pico de gallo with lots of heat, so I usually add more lime (and lemon juice) and plenty of jalapeños.
The most important ingredient though is friends. Make sure to have someone with whom to share!
- Combine all ingredients in medium bowl and stir. Allow to sit for 15 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld together. Serve as a dip for chips or as a side for on top of meat.
