Mountain Goats at Mount Rushmore
I am traveling cross country this week on an epic road trip. Mount Rushmore was my first stop on the road trip and these mountain goats came out for a visit while I was strolling the President’s Trail, which gives some great perspectives of each presidents’ face.
But this is the face I was most interested in at the moment!
It was a mama and her baby just out for a morning stroll. Because she had her kid with her I was a bit nervous, and tried to stay away, but as I tried to sneak past them the mom goat came right up to me, snorted and slightly lowered her head towards me. I think she was trying to threaten me, so I tried to walk away, but that made it worse. So I stood there and took photos until they walked by.
So- lesson learned is that sometimes it’s better to stay rooted in your spot when confronted by a wild animal… But man was my heart beating hard!
